Join Our Neighborhood Association!
The Garvin Gate Neighborhood Association is a group made up of many of the residents of the blocks defined by Fourth Street, Ormsby, Seventh Street and Oak. We meet regularly, usually every few months, to discuss important issues within the community: keeping of the streets, yards and public areas; participation in local charity and public works events; crime & safety and preservation district compliance; and other various items that come up from time to time.
Being a part of the Gate Association is a great way to meet and get to know your neighbors better, and understand the many similar as well as different hopes we all have for our block, as well as the whole of Old Louisville, and even Greater Louisville as much as we can be involved. It's also a good avenue for staying informed of local events and policies that affect us.
The cost of membership is only $12/household ($1/month)! GGNA members are also automatically members of the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council, the “umbrella” organization for block groups within Old Louisville; members also receive a printed copy of the monthly OLNC newsletter. There is also the annual Progressive Dinner hosted by four volunteer households within the Association every December, well worth the cost of membership.
If you would like to join, please contact Secretary Rose Nett. If you are already a member and have not yet paid your dues for this year, please send them to Treasurer Quinn Chipley, c/o 516 West Ormsby, 40203.
Thanks for your involvement, and remember, there is strength in numbers!
