Mike Suttles has confirmed the headliners for 2011. Karen Lovely, from Ashland, Oregon will perform at the Garvin Gate Blues Festival Friday night. She captured 2nd Place Band prize at the 2010 International Blues Challenge followed by 2011 Blues Music Awards nominations for Best Song "Still The Rain", Best Contemporary Blues Album, and Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist this May; and the KoKo Taylor Award for Best Female Singer, Best Song, and Best Record.

Canton, Mississippi based singer and harpist Grady Champion headlines Saturday night. He was the 2010 International Blues Competition winner, and 2011 Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album of the year, and the 36th Annual Jackson Music Award (Mississippi) for Local Blues Artist of the Year.
Decisions on local bands for the GGBF will be made in June.

Subject: Parking and Street Closures for Garvin Gate Blues Festival, October 7 and 8, 2011
This is to notify impacted businesses and residents that the Garvin Gate Neighborhood Association is presenting the Garvin Gate Blues Festival the second week-end in October on Friday and Saturday, October 7 and 8, 2011. The festival will impact parking and driving on several streets during the event.
1200 block of Garvin and 1100 block of Garvin will be closed to parking and travel on Friday and Saturday, October 7 and 8, 2011 as follows:
• 1200 block of Garvin from Friday, 7:00 AM until approximately 12:00 midnight Saturday from the gate at Garvin and Oak south on Garvin to the second alley before Ormsby.
• 1100 block of Garvin from 7:00 AM Friday until approximately 12:00 midnight Saturday from the corner of Garvin and Oak north to the first alley on Garvin towards St. Catherine St..
Oak Street both east and west will be closed to parking and travel on Friday and Saturday, October 7 and 8, 2011 as follows:
• 6:00 PM Friday until approximately 12:00 midnight, October 7 from 4th and Oak to 6th and Oak.
• 2:00 PM Saturday until approximately 12:00 midnight October 8 from 4th and Oak to 6th and Oak.s
